Divided into 12 different Basins supervised through Basin Support Officers (BSO) and Basin Management Committees (BMC) the Republic of Namibia found a way to manage its constantly challenging water situation.
Every Basin description presented on this homepage provides an overview of the different circumstances and formidable challenges the disparate parts of the country are facing and handling. Information about the general approach and the overall strategies to manage the scarce resource of water on the one hand and the redundant force of nature like floods on the other hand is provided. Moreover you can access and download publications, reports, constitutions, awareness materials, laws, newsletters, movies, audio files and other water related information that have an influence on Namibian society and/or the management of water related subjects in Namibia.
